Your Privacy
This page explains, in plain language, what happens to the information you share with us.
It is a summary, not the legal document. The full terms are in our Privacy Policy and Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy, and if anything here conflicts with those, they govern.
What we collect
Contact information — your name and mobile number, so we can communicate with you.
What you tell us about your health — your diagnosis, treatment history, and anything else you choose to share during the conversation. You decide what to share and how much.
Your medical records, if you send them — pathology, imaging, treatment notes.
Basic technical information — the IP address the request came from, and the page the form was submitted from. This exists to document that the consent you gave came from you.
We do not ask for your Social Security number, insurance details, financial information, or date of birth.
Who sees it
The physician reviewing your case, who is located in Mexico. That is the point of the service — a licensed physician cannot form an opinion about your situation without your information.
The people coordinating your case at Human Paths, limited to what their role requires.
Service providers that operate the infrastructure — hosting, secure storage, text messaging. They process information on our behalf under contract, and they do not use it for their own purposes.
Nobody else, unless you ask us to or the law requires it.
What we do not do
We do not sell your information. Not to anyone, for any purpose.
We do not share it with data brokers.
We do not use your health information for advertising, and we do not build advertising audiences from it. If you visit a page on this site where you submit health information, no advertising or analytics trackers run on it.
We do not send your records to other clinics or providers looking for a second buyer for your case.
Your information crosses a border
This is worth stating clearly rather than burying it.
The physicians are in Mexico. When you send your medical records for review, they are accessed and used in Mexico, under Mexican law — which provides protections, but different ones from those in the United States.
That is not incidental to the service. It is the service. If you are not comfortable with your health information being reviewed by a physician in another country, this is not the right process for you, and that is a reasonable conclusion to reach.
How it is protected
Medical records are uploaded through a single-use link that expires. The upload is encrypted while in transit and encrypted where it is stored.
We never ask you to send medical records by text message or email. If you ever receive a request to do so that appears to come from us, it did not.
Access is limited by role — the people who need to see something can, and others cannot.
How long we keep it
Health information is kept only as long as needed for the purposes described here, and then deleted.
Some records are kept longer because we are required to: proof that you gave permission to be contacted, and records of privacy requests. These are retained for compliance purposes, kept separate, and access is restricted.
This means that if you ask us to delete your information, the record that you once gave consent survives — because that record is what demonstrates we contacted you lawfully. It is not used for anything else.
What you can ask us to do
Stop texting you. Reply STOP to any message. It takes effect immediately and permanently, and you do not need to explain.
Delete your information. Ask, and we will, subject to the retention rules above.
Show you what we have. You can request a copy.
Correct something that is wrong.
Withdraw permission you previously gave.
To make any of these requests: privacy@humanpaths.com
We respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.
If you are doing this for someone else
The patient has to give their own permission. You can help gather records, ask questions, and manage the process — but consent for us to contact them and handle their health information has to come from them.
If you hold legal authority to act on their behalf, tell us and we will explain what documentation is needed.
Children
This service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Questions
If something here is unclear, or you want to know what happens in a situation this page does not cover, write to privacy@humanpaths.com and ask. A question about privacy is not an inconvenience — it is a reasonable thing to ask before sharing medical information with a company you have just found.
This is a plain-language summary. The complete terms are in our Privacy Policy, Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy, SMS Terms & Conditions, and Cookie Policy.
